Gemma’s research explores the temporal and spatial dynamics of auditory memory, with a focus on music, using behavioral, neuroimaging (MEG, MRI), and computational methods. She holds an MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience from Maastricht University and a PhD in Health Sciences from Aarhus University, where she also completed her first postdoctoral position. She was awarded a 3-year postdoctoral grant from Lundbeck Foundation to conduct the project “Why is memory for music special? Uncovering the brain mechanisms underlying musical mnemonics”, a collaboration between the IDEM Lab, Aarhus University, and the University of Copenhagen.
